Good stuff happening in the Church:

• Sarah Signore, 15, of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Greencastle, Pa. did well at the Franklin County Fair.
• Our Lady Consolation Catholic Church in Louisville, KY broke ground on a new community life center this weekend. They say they want it to become a place for members and nonmembers alike to gather. The facility will have a gymnasium, a large kitchen, a youth lounge and a number of meeting rooms.
• Rochester NY area Catholic youths discuss peace-building at their youth conference.

Just thought we should all know and celebrate what is good that is happening out there!

ROCK ON
The always glorious Anna Scally was in town this weekend.  She led a freshman orientation retreat at my daughter’s all-woman’s college.  As a lone male, I snuck in back and, as usual, was amazed at the good (and fresh) ministry that comes from today’s popular music   Must listen more to Mercy Me.

• In 1910, Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu is born to an Albanian couple in Yugoslavia. At age 18, Agnes entered an Irish convent. She later became known worldwide as Mother Teresa.
• In 2004, over 200 American Catholic Youth gather with Archbishop O’Brien of the Archdiocese of Military Services for the European Catholic Youth Conference sponsored by the NFCYM and the AMS
• Also, the message for World Youth Day 2005 was released.

Greetings from the home front this weekend… a quiet weekend doing some not so extreme makeover on the condo while grabbing pizza and school supply shopping with the kids. Others this weekend, however. are on the road…

Three NFCYM office folk and about forty youth ministry friends are in Atlanta scouting the joint for NCYC in 2005. Joanne Cahoon is leaving the Archdiocese of Baltimore for a doctorate program at Chicago Theological Union. Prayers for safe travels for all.

Greetings to the World.  My name is D. Scott Miller and I am starting a bulletin board log (BLOG) of information that might be shared with the Catholic Youth Ministry community.  (more about me at http://www.nfcym.org/v3/nfcym/miller.html. . .  FYI: This blog does not neccessarily reflect the views of the NFCYM.)

This is just a starting point.  I’m not sure where it is going to go.  I hope it will be personal.  I hope it will be per-fess-ion-ale (despite occasional grammar errors and mis-spellings) I hope it will be a resource for friends in the field.

And so, we begin.
