WHAT I DID DURING FEBRUARY
So, I wasn’t blogging. . . what was I doing?  Let see- two Super Bowl parties. Planned a Holy Week vacation.  Clark and Megs will join me and Grandma Kay in Daytona for sun and surf.  Tickets are bought, seats reserved for an Orioles/ DC Nationals game.  Attended a lecture on Martin Luther King’s theology. Got my taxes done- state refund has already returned, feds to follow.  Assisted the kids with the FSFA information. Attended another lecture regarding young adult spirituality. Shared a secret. Stepped up my game when leading a retreat.  Taught coffee filter juggling. Took a few meetings, even smirked in a few of them.   << Work Day >>

BLOGGING AND BUSY-NESS
Excuses why I have not been blogging…
* The dog ate my blog. Actually Raspanet was down for a brief while and then I never got back onto it.
* Application.  With the exception of of last Thursday’s snow day, I have been out or have had kids in every night since January 30.
* Homework ate my blog.  I’ve had far too many late nights posting (D-level) homework assignments which are graded at B’s.
* Application.  Because I have been out more, my need to express/ documentize self has been no as strong.
* Writing ate my homework.  I know that blogging is writing, but so is office work, homework, and book writing work.

We’ll see if we can improve on this!  << Blogging >>

MY LIFE AS A CARTOON
Yes, I did notice that my last two entries were cartoon related – - – which I will take as a positive, happy cartoons – - – rather than comparing my existence to the loosely drawn characters (howdy, Miles) movie Sideways - -  saw it yesterday… it was a healthy check-in  << Culture >>

NED FLANDERS, SUPERSTAR
According to an article at CNN.com, Homer Simpson, star of tonight’s post game show, has been supplanted by that religious figure, Ned Flanders. "Before on "The Simpsons," Ned was a secondary figure — Homer’s cloyingly pious next-door neighbor. But the values he embodies in exaggerated form now monopolize the political scene. In fact, one might say that Homer is Ned’s next-door neighbor, not the other way around, so clearly does Ned bask in the mainstream." God bless us, everyone!  << Culture >>

CHILDHOOD NIGHTMARES
My son is in Disney World with the family.  We opt for a quieter, gentler ride for a moment’s respite from the heat and line waiting.  We all are slightly easing back into the Winnie-the-Pooh ride when suddenly the Heffalumps and Woozels fantasy sequence hits and the lad admits that this is actually a childhood nightmare of his.  And, now, ladies and gentlemen, terror has a new name, from the studio of the Mouse, next week opens Pooh’s Heffalump Movie. Be afraid, be very, very afraid.  << Culture >>

BACK TO THE BLOG
Caught up on some multiple entries today. . . Sorry.  This is my second late night with virtual homework playing "beat the clock."  Did household laundry- -  towels, bed sheets.  Not much of a night (first one in all week) but the pattern of application continues!  <<Blogging>>

MAKING APPLICATION
Applied myself on multiple levels today. Five hours of meetings in the office.  A dinner meeting with a publisher regarding the book project- -  very encouraging.  Calling friends and family.  Late night posting of on-line homework from my newly electric blanketed (ahhhh, toasty) bed.  << Work Day >>

BACK TO AYM
Hanging with the middle schoolers today… we unpacked St. Blaise and then did the blessing of the throats. Amazingly, the traditional still so clearly works with kids.  And it is easy to pull out of of own memory banks as well.  << Parish >>
