BIO: (find it all here.) D. Scott Miller is the coordinator for adolescent faith formation for the Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  His responsibilities include the areas of adolescent catechesis and confirmation. With over thirty years of youth ministry experience on the parish and diocesan levels, Scott previously served on the staff of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, Inc as director of membership services. His responsibilities there included management of all aspects of the  National Conferences on Catholic Youth Ministry (2000-2004) and the New Diocesan Directors’ Institute He maintains a daily web-blog at www.catholicYMblog.com as well as offers week podcasts interviews with youth ministry characters “Inside the Youth Ministers’ Studio” at www.insideYMstudio.com.   Scott is the proud father of Nichole, 22, Clark, 21, and Meghan, 16.

QUOTE TO NOTE: (what have you learned in providing this auxiliary service of the web site?) There is a virtual community that is gathered around the web site. And I have been blessed to be a minister in service to this virtual community.  I get these funny, great, lovely, encouraging e-mails from different folks thanking me for the service, making suggestions, telling which way I should go, and correcting my spelling errors. . . I never understood virtual communities or social networking until this experience.  Web sites like this are a means by which we can gather folks into learning communities. . . It’s all full of possibilities.

OBSCURE FACTOID: I started podcasting and posting on Wednesdays for a few specific reasons.  Wednesday seemed to be a good point in the middle of the week.  It allowed me a few days after the weekend if a special guest came into town and recorded an interview.  AND, I knew my 50th birthday would be on a Wednesday, and that this might be a gift to myself.  I truly appreciated Mike Patin in playing along.

BEHIND THE SCENES: The interview does have a format of questions which each interviewee gets in advance.  There is, however, the intention of a conversation and sometimes other questions pop up.  Mike attempted to give me one or two of his off-format questions in advance, but I didn’t want them- trying to take the interviewee role as every other previous “quest” experiences them
