Time magazine has an article on the “drip-drip” impact of teen celebrities in public stages of undress, Juno, Gossip Girl, 90210. . .

The real problems arise when the media unanimously suggest that hotness is the only identity worth trying on. And when they define desirability in such a narrow fashion that many girls feel they have to amp up their sexual signals to measure up.

  1. Scott: Thanks for supplying so many of us with current and relevant articles, quotes, videos, songs etc. Are people paying attention to your contributions? You are such a great service to the Church.
The only thing that gave me pause was that the article didn’t seem to give much thought to the fact that Teen Girls are having sex with Teen Boys. Kinda made it seem that it’s just a girl thing.
But I’ll defintiely use this article as part of the material I share with youth ministers, teachers, priests and adminstrators in the graduate courses I teach. Udaman, Scott.

  3. Hi there- someone just sent me this link b/c I’m a high school theology teacher. I’m hoping you might have a lead for me on girl-girl issues… my students are currently dealing with weird peer pressure on that score and I haven’t done any research about this. Thanks in advance!!
