April Fools

castYes, the blog is still here.

It was all an April Fools joke and what joy it was in the “pulling off” off the caper.  (Actually, I thought Oprah being named as the fourth person of the Trinity by beliefnet was pretty good as well!)

There was not a lot of advance planning on this one… and the “script” wasn’t sent out until Sunday… before that, we were working from an outline and our own imaginations.

And what a fine group of players we were able to assemble for this adventure.  Why were these guys chosen?  Basically, because I knew that they had a willing heart, could bring some funny, and some skills with a video camera.

You can find them all on-line. Mike Patin, Gene Monterastelli, Bob Rice, Shannon and Orin from Oddwalk Ministries,  Kyle from Popple, Canada’s Clayton Imoo, Chris Padgett, and Iowa’s Chris Weber.  And introducing, in the role of newscaster Meghan Elizabeth, is rising young starlet and my youngest daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Miller.  (wasn’t she awesome!)

And now, that we have discovered that we can pull this off….  what next????

We all got into youth ministry because, in part, it looked like fun!  It’s important to remember that and actually do that every now and then.

Comment away. . . what was your favorite moment??

  6. Meghan’s line: “I’ve gotta say on behalf of everyone here at the Catholic Youth Minstry Blog News, we did not see that one coming…”

  7. I would say, the clip when chris is screaming at his family to be quiet, is what I found the funniest. A fine example of collaboration at it’s best!
