After a very busy, intense March and early April, I was left with one pressing item on the “to-do” list yesterday – - compile and edit the video from Saturday’s pilgrimage. (And, I’m very proud of the outcome, thinking that I’ve learned a few things recently about editing video.)
The pilgrimage is a great metaphor for this recent season. We have walked and resisted tiring. We have marched forth in faith and ministry. We have set our course.
But, now, the major items on the list are a series of check-off’s. And there is a weariness.
So, now . . . comes a break. I will be out of the office for the next eight days. Without a significant mountains to climb, I’m on a full staycation, resting and recuperating.
It just may be the healthiest thing I’ve ever scheduled for myself.
