All right, you need to make a choice on the video to the right… It’s 17 minutes.
Find the time that you can watch this.
If you’ve never heard of Seth Godin, then please know that Forbes indicates that he “is a demigod on the Web, a best-selling author, highly sought-after lecturer, successful entrepreneur, respected pundit and high-profile blogger. He is uniquely respected for his understanding of the Internet.”
What you will learn here is why the future of youth ministry is not in the youth group, but in the vision and possibilities of youth groupings.
When you lead in youth ministry, who is your tribe?

I have been reading Seth for a couple of months. He is extremely insightful. To be honest, I never thought of applying this stuff to youth ministry. Thanks for this, it is really opening up some doors in my mind about things that could be done.

Scott,
Good pick on the video, I put it on my blog. I think these are important questions to apply to ministry. I would like to see this kind of stuff addressed at the next youth contact meetings in the fall.
To add to your last point I think we as youth ministers and ministries need to learn what God’s specific purpose is for us in youth ministry…meaning what are we specialists in?
