(For the sake of context for those playing along at home, this was posted on Wednesday, May 20th and written Thursday, May 14th)
“You could travel on ten thousands miles and still stay where you are.”
I am not in existential crisis like the video might indicate, but offer the video as a nod to Johanna (whom I recently discovered shares an appreciation for Harry Chapin.)
Starting today, I will be entering into a furlough-induced vacation/ holiday weekend. And I’m going to take the full break, and not just some weisure time.
I’m officially off-blog (facebook, twitter, etc.) until Wednesday, May 27 when I will return to the office. Everyone has a need to rest, reflect, and work towards preventing themselves becoming that “bright good morning voice who’s heard but never seen . . . Feeling all of forty-five (actually 51), going on fifteen.”
As with previous furlough days, please join me in remembering our ministry brethren who are facing financial hardships in your prayers this weekend.

Yeah shout out! Though I’m disappointed that there were no profound lyrics to be found in 30,000 pounds of bananas
