Including yesterday’s posting about Arlington, it’s interesting to see these mega-workcamps bloom and grow.
DALLAS, TX — The purpose of Mission Possible, which is in its 15th year, is to give children the opportunity “to put into practice the social teachings of the Catholic faith,” said the Rev. Doug Deshotel, vicar general for the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. Mission Possible, a weeklong Catholic program that sends more than 1,500 kids on missions of benevolence around the Dallas area. BRASILIA, BRAZIL — Father Gisley Azevedo Gomex, the National Advisor for Youth Ministry for Brazil’s National Conference of Catholic Bishops was recently murdered. The Brazilian bishops are urging that “society mobilize to end the violence that so prematurely ends lives.” The 31 year-old priest, they said, became “a victim of the violence he desired to combat.” Read more here.
