The Micah Experience Work Camp as a Catholic version of Group’s already full slate of popular worlcamps.
BALTIMORE, MD — Approximately 275 Catholic teens and adults participated in the Micah Experience Work Camp from July 26-31, performing free repairs at the homes of 45 elderly, handicapped and low-income residents in the Baltimore area. The work camp was co-sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Group Workcamps Foundation. According to Diana Healy, the local project coordinator, teens from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York and Wisconsin participated. Read more here.
KWWL-TV news reporter Lauren Squires spent a week at Catholic Youth Camp and lived to blog about it:
DUBUQUE, IA — The theme was “Journey” and no I’m not talking about the band Journey. The idea was to take the kids on a faith journey, to evaluate where we were at on our faith journey and hopefully grow in the process. Now, I don’t know about you BUT my journey in life is certainly not what I thought it would be, but entirely what it should be. And to look deep in my heart all week and see the kids and staff do the same, I was renewed and inspired. Read the whole post for pictures and video here.
