The Weekend

crazyhomerIt has been crazy busy. This is not a whiny post – - – We all have full weekend calendars.  I just thought I’d document this one.

Friday:  A usual day in the office- Worked up a web page with one of our staff, did some NCYC detail stuff, and then helped pack-out for various meetings for the weekend.  As I was leaving, I was reminded that a NET team (I think team six) was visiting in Central Maryland.  Although I had missed a good portion of the middle school retreat, I did catch the prayer and a few talks.  Wow, I really needed the prayer time.  It was worth driving two hours for the probably 20 minutes of quiet, peaceful prayer time.

Saturday:  We held a coaches training somewhere.  We also had a pastoral care day on Gangs.  The presenter was Frank Clark from the State of Maryland and his presentation was chock-ful of information.  Turns out that good youth ministry is a strong preventive regarding gangs.  After that, it was off to appetizers with a friend discerning her ministry and then deserts with the daughters. (Yep, that right, dinner seemed to have been by-passed along the way.)

Sunday: Today, our Archdiocesan Youth Advisory Council meets and I have a lunch date with some of them.  Then we are all off to the NCYC delegation meeting with airplane tickets, crazy crab hats and t-shirts, and joy at gathering with the “youngchurch.”  Meanwhile, The Ravens must fight their way back into 1st place without me.

Monday: Yea, I know that the  weekend is over, but I don’t immediately start back in with the office; I’m back out to Central Maryland for the annual Formation Day conference planning.

There usually is a lull in our office that comes with December. It can’t come fast enough.
