While the youngchurch gathers in Kansas City, an old church celebrates as well. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington — the largest Catholic church in North America and one of the 10 largest churches in the world — marks the 50th anniversary of its dedication Nov. 20.
For six years, I worked across the street form what I often referred to as “our little chapel” and as far back as April 26, 2005, I appreciated a little side chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Hope.
