This is our prayer this Sunday where we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord.

May we cry out by our very lives, “Here is your God!” May we direct others to the One who we know is mightier than the all-important “I.” We beg to be servants who the Lord will uphold, chosen ones with whom the Lord is please, those upon whom God can place his spirit.

Lord, bring the power, smooth everything out- straighten highways in wastelands, raise valleys, lower mountains, make plain rugged lands and rough country, Your voice is mighty, is majestic, and echoes over the waters. Reveal your glory, grasp us by the hand; form us, and set us as a continual covenant for your people.

Save us through the bath of rebirth, renew us with your Holy Spirit and fire. Bless your people with peace. Make us you beloved son and daughters, brothers and sisters. heirs in hope of eternal life.
