Others have suggested that dangerous nature of our faith.
Michael Yaconelli in his book Dangerous Wonder suggested that if we took the spirit and the words of the old spiritual How Great Thou Art seriously that we would consider all the works the hands of the Lord has made, it would be an awe-some wonder. It would cause us to make un-safe, possibly dangerous choices.
Martin Luther King, Jr. in his last speech before his assassination spoke of the Good Samaritan and “dangerous unselfishness.” He spoke of the dangerous curve between Jerusalem and Jericho known as the “Bloody Pass” where a Samaritan comes across a stranger in need and asks the question (without thought for himself), “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”
Can Faith be safe?
