The invitation to step up on the soapbox remains open, folks!

While clock hours have been one way to see if people are learning, I agree that they may not give the best indication of how qualified a person is to serve in ministry. I have never completed the certification process. Quite frankly, it is too much trouble. There are better ways to serve the youth of my parish. That said, I think it is important to continue to learn. We can learn from the youth we service, we can learn by reading and research and we can learn from conferences, seminars and workshops. It is important it understand that we can never know enough. There is always more to learn. I look forward to seeing the new certification process. I may decide that it is worth my time.
