I think the reason is simple, in the face of such power and awesomeness of God they were rendered speechless. I think this happens often to us today, 2000 years since the resurrection of Christ. As Catholics we keep our experiences of Christ, the great works of God in our lives to ourselves: not because we don't believe, or don't have a desire to share, but because we are left speechless. We fall silent in awe of the God of the universe that acts in our lives everyday. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit to inspire our words and actions in proclamation of God's marvelous love and deeds in our lives.
