Four Lent

gracebeforemeals Bless us Oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty.

We have tasted, we have seen the goodness of the Lord. Our praise for You remains ever in our mouths. We have received the gift of your heavenly manna, but now we eat from the gifts of the lands you have provided us.

Lord, You welcome us, despite that we are sinners, You will sit and eat with us. You have removed the reproach of our past from our souls. We radiant with joy, no longer do we blush with shame. Yet, you do embarrass us with your lavish hospitality, offering us all that is the best, celebrating us with the finest of feasts.

We who have been lost have been found; we who were left for dead have come to life again. Old things have passed away and we who are in You are a new creation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for You and we implore all on behalf of You to be reconciled to You.

Bless us Oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, through Christ, Our Lord.
