Tennessee

Wow, the letter T. This little tour is moving along alphabetical-like. We are at the 20th letter and the 42nd state.  Here’s a reminder of our previous visit, and here we go!

+ Bishop Stika of Knoxville has a video greeting for young adults right up front.

+ Here’s hoping that they never have to be used, but Accident Report Forms are available from Memphis.

+ Attention, Greg Walton!  This fall, when you play at Nashville’s youth rally and the concert afterwards, please allow your fellow headliner to share the stage. Mike Patin does play a mean back-up cow bell.  Thanks, Greg.  I ask this on behalf of the children.

  1. My solo on “Go Make a Difference” rocks. I was vetoed from doing the one man band (kazoo-cowbell-knee cymbals) tribute to Jesse Manibusan–my version of “Open my Eyes” is a real show-stopper.

  2. Breaking News:

Well known Catholic evangelist and NCCYM 2010 MC was detained by the TSA at the New Orleans airport today for concealing knee cymbals in his luggage. They were confiscated as they were consider “weapons of mass distraction”

Obscure blogger D. Scott Miller has begun a fund drive related to this incident. Contributions are now being taken up for the “We support the TSA in their good work.” fund drive. Your contributions will go to sending TSA agents throughout the land some Girl Scout Thin Mints in recognition of their efforts to keep American safe (and sane!)

< < All this is written in recognition of the risk of incurring the wrath of Patin’s bowling buddies upon this blog once again.>>

  3. You won’t get better at defending yourself from incurred wrath unless you practice so…, I commend your desire to practice, even though you are are woefully un-armed.

    with much admiration =]

  4. Alas, my attempts at humor are recived as warmly as gutter balls in some circles

  5. Miller, I agree with my teammate. Your willingness to practice defending yourself while un-armed is commendable. (We all throw gutter balls once in a while.) However, what you don’t realize is that The Holy Rollers fully support Patin in his kazoo-cowbell-knee cymbal tributes and are looking forward to at least one being played at NCCYM. We even support him by playing his back up band every once in a while… the Kims on the nose whistle and spoons, and me on the vuvuzela. Make sure you bring your tissues, Miller. It’s a tear-jerker.

  6. Tears will be elicited… of this I have the upmost confidence.

On the flip side, Katie, you have offered me hope in that maybe your lovely “accompaniment” on the vuvuzela will drown out the rest. And for that… I thank you!

  7. I think you have seen that the Holy Rolling spirit is alive and well…and may leave our bowling excellence to pursue musical rhapsody.
