Rejoice!

I’ve been doing a bit of reading and writing on Luke 15recently. In it, we have three parables that all have similar endings — the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Prodigal (Lost) Son. The punch-line to each parable is to gather friends, neighbors, and family and to celebrate and rejoice that what was once lost is now found.

As we enter into the new school year, celebrate all those who have returned, celebrate those who are newly found in your midst, and celebrate all those who partner in ministry in the fields of the Lord.

And let your happiness show. St. Teresa of Avila expressed her grievance about those who took no joy in their faith, “Lord, save us from sour-faced saints!” Rejoice and celebrate — We are always better together!

Youth Rally and Mass for Life

We will again be organizing the Archdiocese’s request for tickets for the events at DC’s Verizon Center or Armory. Please begin planning now for this January 25, 2013 event. As always, many more tickets are requested than actually allotted. We will have information available in next week’s Along the Way e-newsletter. Reservation deadline will be October 5.

BYCC — Assemble

Twitter has been expressing concern regarding the recent resignation of BYCC Man… (Did you miss the news from last week’s first promotional video for 2012? Pass the video along via facebook.) Registration info is here.

Adult Training

> Last week, we promised a flyer on our two training webinars this year. The first on Pastoral Care related to Bullying will be October 18.
> Keep planning on bringing your parish core team (adults) to the Youth Contact meetings on September 8 or 15.
> There will be a Created to Love training on September 26 and a Seminar in Youth Ministry class in Central Maryland via Equip.
