True confession time… back in high school, I actually served as the team mascot for the mighty Vikings… basically an opportunity to show some leg in the middle of November.
So I actually have a place in my heart for the Oriole Bird, Poe the Raven, the Philly Phanatic, Petey the Parrot, and others…
But the hero of them all in the greatest underdog, Teddy Roosevelt!
Someday, someday soon, maybe he will win the race! Go, TR!
UPDATE: As is often the case, I wrote this post a week or so in advance. Wednesday, Teddy’s record all changed. Last night, The O’s went deeper into the playoffs. The Ravens are near the top of NFL power rankings… OH, it is good to be a mid-Atlantic sports fan!

The Nat’s are going home for the winter today.
Go Cards.
