In, of all places, INC. magazine, I tripped across this list recently regarding what sets up un-happiness. I automatically reminded me of two people:
> The most consistently unhappiest person I know…., and
> ummm, errrrr, ahhhh…. me (when I am at my unhappiest)
Happiness – in your business life and your personal life – is often a matter of subtraction, not addition. Consider, for example, what happens when you stop (or, at least, cut back on) doing these following 10 things: Blaming, Impressing, Clinging, Interrupting, Whining, Controlling, Criticizing, Preaching, Dwelling, and Fearing.
There is more to a piece of writing that I want to do here, but for another day. The Gospels are fun of encouragement towards getting beyond these behaviors… The disciples were sent two by two with nothing, how’s that for getting beyond Clinging. All those trust in the Lord encouragements are meant to get up beyond Controlling.
These behaviors lead towards towards working from our own brokenness. As disciples, for our own whole-liness and holiness, we have to re-examine these behaviors… in the Name of the God Who is Love.
